Pocket Planet Print: Neptune

If you stay on top of space news, you may have read an article that told us we've been lied to about Neptune's color. Researchers reprocessed Voyager 2 images using recent data from telescopes like Hubble and published an image of Neptune that better represents how it would appear to our eyes. No longer is it a beautiful dark blue, but a much lighter blue-green similar to Uranus. The truth is human eyesight is limited to a teeny tiny portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Enhancing colors in spacecraft images isn't done to deceive you, but to enhance features of scientific interest. Communicating this to the public, unfortunately, can be lost in translation. But since this is my art and I like vivid colors #TeamDarkBlueNeptune.
