Ah, TRAPPIST-1. My favorite exoplanetary system 40 light years away where an ultra-cool star slightly larger than Jupiter—but much more massive—hosts 7 Earth-sized planets. The planets of the system are all closer to their cooler host star than Mercury is to the Sun. It is unclear if the planets have atmospheres or if they have been stripped away by solar radiation. I chose an optimistic scenario for TRAPPIST-1 e, one of the planets in the star's habitable zone. I decided to paint a tidally locked, rocky world with an atmosphere, dense red vegetation near the terminator, and an ice cap on the dark side.
